Options for getting to Susak Island

Susak Island maintains its laid back charm and Old World atmosphere because of its remoteness. Getting here may not be easy but it is an adventure. If you’re traveling from the United States, you can fly into Paris or Venice. Both locations act as a jumping-off-point to reach your island destination.

Once you arrive on Susak Island, getting to our private home, Marina’s by the Sea, is easy. We’re on the main street, a 5-minute walk from the marina – a yellow, three-story stone building on the right. If you let us know in advance which ferry you’ll be on, we will meet you at the marina with a carryola (wagon) to transport your luggage to our home.

From Venice…

You can travel to Pula, Croatia from Venice by ferry. It will be necessary to stay overnight in Pula before taking the fast ferry to Susak Island. You can check out the fast ferry schedule by following this link. You can purchase tickets here.

Part of Susak Island’s charm is the total lack of motorized vehicles, so please take note that the ferry is passenger-only.

From Paris…

Flights are available from Paris to Pula for about $100. Once in Pula, follow the directions above to take the ferry to Susak Island.

From Rijeka…

If you’re traveling to Susak Island from Croatia, you can take a direct ferry that departs from Rijeka. This is the largest seaport in the country and a wonderful place to visit in its own right. You can travel to Rijeka by bus, car, boat, train, or plane.

If you drive, you may not be able to park near the harbor where the ferry departs, but you can take a taxi or Uber from your parking location to the ferry terminal. You will find the catamaran on the east side of the harbor.

The catamaran ferry ride takes about 4 hours and the vessel is air-conditioned.

From Mali Losinj…

If you’re traveling to Susak Island from southern Croatia, Mali Losinj offers easy access via catamaran ferry. Mali Losinj is an island, so depending on when you arrive you may have to spend the night.
